In 2018, a leftover LED strip and a curiosity about indoor cultivation sparked an experiment in a small Delft studio. It quickly showed that plants can grow in tiny spaces if the light is right.
That insight led to years of testing different light sources, spectrums, and enclosures. Each iteration brought the concept closer to a functional, compact grow box suited for indoor living.
Visitors were often surprised to learn a plant was growing right in front of them. The discreet design made the idea spread by word of mouth and hinted at real product potential.
The pandemic accelerated interest in self-sufficient indoor hobbies, and by 2022 the Hobby Grow Box team formed to bring the concept to market with a focus on reliability and ease of use.
By 2025, the concept matured into a finished product: a quiet, user-friendly hobby grow box built for modern apartments and everyday growers.
